Sarah Webb was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana where she developed a strong passion for the environment and conservation of our natural resources. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2012 with her B.A. in Political Theory and Environmental Policy and Decision-Making. Sarah’s passion for international development, especially in the context of women’s empowerment, began during an overseas fieldwork program focused on community based natural resource management with one of her advisors in Namibia & Botswana. After graduation, Sarah moved to Tamil Nadu, India to work as a Social Studies & English teacher at a rural tribal school for first generation students. While living in India, Sarah also conducted ethnographic research on the women of the Irula Tribe, and now serves on the school’s Board of Directors.
