MicroConsignment

The MicroConsignment Model (MCM) is a Community Enterprise Solutions (our sister organization) social innovation. The mission of the MCM is to create first-time access to life-changing technologies, products and services for isolated villagers through locally-owned, managed and sustainable (profitable) entrepreneurial solutions.

Recent Examples:
Guatemala:
Beneficiary: Residents of Sololá and surrounding towns
Impact Achieved: Interns launched the first SolCom Store in Sololá, which will create permanent access to MCM products for the residents of Sololá and surrounding towns.


Ecuador:
Beneficiary: Families in rural villages throughout Ecuador
Impact Achieved: Interns conducted a needs analysis for Nutributter to determine local need for an infant nutritional supplement to address high rates of malnutrition among the infant population.


Nicaragua:
Beneficiary: Small-scale famers in rural villages throughout Nicaragua
Impact Achieved: Interns conducted a feasibility study and designed a marketing strategy for a family nutrition kit to create access to a small-scale irrigation system for farmers in isolated communities.


South Africa:
Beneficiary: Small villages in semi-urban and rural South Africa
Impact Achieved: Interns held the first four village impact campaigns in South Africa, creating access to 119 pairs of reading glasses, other eye care products and solar  lamps through the MCM for the first time in the country.
